Survive the Alabama Beach with these Hacks

When preparing for your trip to Alabama Beaches, it’s easy for you to forget a few key things for the optimal beach day experience. As your beach experts, we are here to bring you our top tips for combating pesky sand and fighting the wind on your beach days!

1) Baby Powder is your Best Friend

If you’ve ever been to the beach, then you know about the frustrations that come with sand! After playing along the coast and swimming in the Gulf, there is a good chance you will have sand sticking to your skin. This is easily solved with a bottle of baby powder! Pour the Baby Powder over the sand, then dust it off with ease.

2) Tuck Your Towel

Windy days are going to happen, especially when you’re on the coast. Keep your towels from flying away and kicking up sand by tucking the corners into the sand. To do this, you just fold the corners down to gather up sand. Feel free to add more sand on top of the crease for added reinforcement.

3) Build a Sand Free Area

When visiting the beach with little kids, especially babies, it’s important to have a sand-free area for them to enjoy. To build one, take a fitted sheet and put heavy items, like bags, in the corners to create a wall. Go the extra step and place a plastic container of water on the outside to rinse off feet before stepping in!

4) Book with Gold Star Vacation Rentals

The best tip we could give you is to book with Gold Star Vacation Rentals! With short-term rentals in a variety of sizes, amenities, and prices in the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, AL area, it’s hard to go wrong. Visit our rental page here and find your perfect beach vacation stay!
