Gold Star Vacation Rental Terms & Conditions

The policies and procedures of Gold Star Vacation Rentals are designed to ensure that both renters and owners receive the best service possible. Please read these carefully. Reservations

A 2 night minimum stay is required on all properties unless otherwise noted.

A 7 or 5 night minimum stay is required for some properties during the Peak Season from June 1st through August 31st.

Normally Saturday to Saturday.

Some properties are restricted to weekly rentals all year. Please check with a reservation agent or the property rules.

Monthly rentals are available in most properties from October to mid-March. Please call a Gold Star Vacation Rental Specialist for Snowbird rental rates.

Minimum Age Requirement

We have a minimum age requirement of 21. Under NO circumstances will a property be rented to anyone under the age of 21 who is not accompanied by a parent or guardian. Unless approved by management at the time of booking. The individual checking in must be the parent or guardian who is renting the unit and must be present for the entire stay, even if you are using Remote Check-in.

Any reservations obtained under false pretense may be subject to eviction from the property and loss of prepayment deposit, rental payments, taxes and fees. 

Beach Homes

Summer Season: Most gulf front houses and duplexes are available for weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday. Check the property details or call a reservation specialist for last-minute cancellations for the possibility of less than a full week rental in the summer season.

Off Season: Most beach houses are available with a 2-night minimum.

Condominiums

Summer Season: While most condo rentals require a 2 night minimum stay, on occasion a Unit may have a 1 night minimum stay available if a gap is open in the calendar. We do generally offer discounts for gap reservations. You will need to check with a reservation specialist.

Off Season: 2-night minimum stays are available for most properties from September 1st thru May 31st.

Check-In

You will receive a Welcome email with useful area information and check-in procedures prior to your arrival date. You will receive a second detailed email Check-in Letter the day of your arrival with specific Remote Check-in and entry instructions for your vacation rental property.

Where:

Since most of our properties are keyless we offer Remote Check-In which allows you to go directly to your vacation rental without stopping by our office to pick up a key. If you would like to stop by our office is located at 3645 Gulf Shores Parkway Suite 106 Gulf Shores, AL. We are in the strip center just south of the traffic light at County Road 4 and 59 Highway on the west side of the road. We are open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

When:

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM (CST) on your scheduled arrival date. Properties must be cleaned and disinfected before allowing occupancy and therefore check-in time cannot be guaranteed. Be assured we are working to meet the check-in time but on occasion, issues may arise that slightly delay your access to the unit. Please be patient should this occur. We want you to have a Great Vacation experience. We will also allow guests to check-in early if the unit is completed before 4:00. This is never guaranteed.

Late Arrivals:

No problem, you will be given all access codes to access the unit prior to your arrival.

Check-Out

Checkout is at 10 AM. Departures after check-out time is subject to a charge equal to one day’s rent and tax.

Check-out Responsibilities:

Please do a light clean-up before you leave the unit. Remove all food and beverage items from the refrigerator and freezer. Please take out any trash to the proper receptacle and place dirty dishes in the dishwasher.  Place all towels and washcloths in the bathtub or shower. Set the Air Conditioner to 75 degrees and make sure all windows and doors are closed and locked.

NOTE: Your door code will become inactive at 10:00 AM unless a late checkout was arranged and paid for.

Payment Requirement

50% of the total is due at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due no later than 30 days prior to your check-in date (60 days for houses and longterm reservations). If you book within 30 days of arrival date the entire balance is due at the time of booking. 

We accept Visa, MC, Discover and American Express.

Once you have signed and returned your electronic Rental Agreement you may access the Renters Portal to make your remaining payments online. Check all email inboxes including your Junk or Spam folders for communications from Gold Star Vacation Rentals for your renter’s login information.

Please take time to verify the arrival/departure dates, reserved accommodations and rent amount due. You should contact us immediately if you find a discrepancy in fees or accommodations, otherwise we will assume all information is correct. Receipt of your signed rental agreement and Welcome email will serve as your confirmation letter.

Cancellation

Your rental must be canceled 30 days prior to your arrival date for condo rentals and 60 days for house and long term monthly rentals. If it is necessary to cancel your reservation, with more than the required advance notice, all payments are refundable, less the Booking fee with a minimum of $100. Rentals canceled with less than the specified number of days notice will be held as lost rent and result in forfeiture of all payment(s), processing fees, pre-paid rent and all other fees and taxes. Rebooking Policy

If you cancel at least 2 weeks before your initial reservation check-in date and another date is available you may rebook the same or another unit managed by Gold Star Vacation Rentals within 30 days of the original rental date to receive full credit to be applied to the new rental.

Occupancy

The number of guests, including children, is limited to the sleeping capacity of each vacation rental property and is determined by bedroom quantity, furnishings and accommodation size. Exceptions may be made for infants and toddlers under 3 years of age.

Eviction

Guests may be asked to immediately vacate rental premises, without refunds or compensation, in the event of unnecessary and loud noise (nuisance or disturbance), breaking of Gold Star Vacation Rental or condominium association rules or other illegal activities. Any reservation obtained under false pretense and not adhering to minimum age, occupancy limits, pet policy and supervision requirements are subject to immediate eviction without refund or compensation.

NO HOUSE PARTIES…

Substitution

We reserve the right to substitute comparable accommodations without notice or liability should the reserved unit be out of order or not available for any reason. When comparable accommodations are not available, renter will have the option of selecting from available properties at the published rate or receiving a complete refund of the reservation payments. Under some circumstances, rates may also be subject to change, depending on the date your reservation was made.

Pet Policy

Dogs are allowed in properties identified as Dog Friendly. No cats or other pets are allowed.

A non-refundable pet fee is required and varies from property to property. A pet or evidence of a pet found on the premises at any non-pet friendly property will cause immediate eviction and forfeiture of your entire rent payments, payments, taxes and fees.

Local boarding kennels are available should you require this service.

Rules for our Dog Owners:

You are responsible for cleaning up after any accidents that your pet has.  This must be an immediate and thorough cleaning of the area. In addition to this cleaning, you are required to report this incident to Gold Star Vacation Rentals immediately so that we can schedule a thorough disinfecting of the area.

The dog must be attended to at all times. If you have to leave the dog for a period of time be sure they are securely locked in a kennel that you provide.

There should not be excess hair from your pet in the home.  You are responsible for cleaning any such hair before you depart.

It is your responsibility to report and pay for any damage caused by your pet.  Please remember that it is your financial obligation to pay for any repairs or damages for the next guest.

Please use identified areas for your dog to go to relieve itself and you must pick up any waste and dispose of it. BE COURTEOUS TO OTHER VACATIONERS…

Under no circumstance and for no duration of time can your pet be allowed to harass or impose on another guest visiting. If Gold Star Vacation Rentals receives a complaint that your pet is causing a disturbance you will receive one warning and if the issue is not resolved you will be asked to find another location to house your pet for the duration of your stay. If you are not able to control your pet or find other accommodations, you will be evicted without compensation or any refund of unused rental days, taxes or administration fees.

Linens, Towels & Supplies Provided

High-Quality Bed linens, blankets, pillows, dishes, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, initial supply of bath towels based upon the accommodation size of the unit.

We also start you off with the following items.

  • 1 roll of paper towels  
  • 1 roll of toilet tissue per bathroom  
  • 1 travel size dishwashing liquid
  • 1 trash bag per can  
  • 1 dishwashing packet
  • 1 laundry detergent packet
  • 1 travel sized soap per bathroom
  • 1 travel size lotion per bathroom
  • 1 travel size shampoo per bathroom
  • 1 travel size conditioner per bathroom

Furnishing & Décor

All rental properties are equipped with central heat and air conditioning, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer and basic cable TV unless otherwise noted. Because the properties are privately owned, decor, style, color schemes and furnishings will vary. There are no guarantees that the standards provided by the owner are compatible with those of the guest. Furnishings are subject to change without notice. We will make every effort to repair or replace appliances or equipment as soon as possible during your stay in the event of a malfunction

Telephone

Telephones are furnished in some vacation properties for local calls only. Long distance and directory assistance calls must be made collect, charged to your personal phone number or paid by credit card.

Parking

Parking Passes are required at most condo complexes. Many provide a maximum of two per condo. 1-bedroom condos are generally only provided one parking pass. Parking passes are usually included in the cost of the reservation however, some complexes require them to be purchased onsite. Depending on the complex, trailer and boat parking are not allowed.

Please verify with your Gold Star reservation specialist to confirm the policy of a particular property.

Each complex is different and we will help to provide as much information as possible but Gold Star Vacation Rentals is not responsible for unexpected policy changes by the condominium complex.

All Phoenix condo buildings require parking passes to be purchased directly from them at the front desk. Pricing is subject to change.

  Any vehicle not displaying required parking passes will be subject to being towed by the building Owners Association, at vehicle owners’ expense.

Please Be Conscientious

Please help us conserve energy. Turn lights off and turn AC up (heat down in the winter) when you are not in the unit. Do not flush anything down toilets except toilet paper. If a call to a plumber is necessary and we find foreign objects you may be billed for the service call.

Grilling

Fire Marshal and condominium association rules prohibit the use of grills on decks, under raised beach houses. Most condo buildings and houses have designated BBQ Grilling areas. A few local condos allow grilling on balconies but you will need to check with Gold Star to verify before grilling.

Inspections & Showing of units Listed For Sale 

We reserve the right to enter rental premises at any time for the purpose of inspection, repair, or other management requirements. In the event that the property you are renting is Listed for Sale we may need to show the property during your stay. We will make every effort to schedule the showing at a convenient time to not disturb you and your guests. No inconvenience discount is allowed.

Additional Information

All units are leased without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. Taxes and fees are subject to change. We reserve the right to change unit assignments if the need arises. Please note that all Gold Star Vacation Rental properties are individually owned by others and Gold Star Vacation Rentals is contracted under the laws of Alabama to offer listed properties for rent. Vacation property owners often make changes in regards to furnishings and décor may not be the same as pictured. We make every effort to ensure that all the information is current and accurate. We cannot be held responsible for errors or changes made by owners in furnishings and equipment.
